Are pit bulls dangerous--I thought so once too
by Robin
All the articles here that I read have good points. I agree that its an owners job/duty to be a good owner. All dogs have the ability/potential to go bad. Being a good owner is being a good parent its watching your pet all the time and being responsible for them. Our greatest resource has been PBRC, our local club; http://www.brewcitybullies.org/home the Brew City Bullies, and pages like this one. We made a choice that we would be good owners to our dog and educated ourselves from the minute we brought her home. To me this is the biggest tragedy that dog owners of all breeds who aren't responsible owners. Its just like people and their kids. Everyone raises them differently, and some are good and some are bad. It just the bad ones who make the news and give all of them a bad name. To those who have had bad experiences I too have been attacked twice in my life, once by a little yappy thing that took a chunk out of my leg. The next time by an Irish setter who bit my hand ( this dog later bit a young girl in the face ). I had to learn to love dogs again, and am so glad that I have my beautiful pitty in my life now.
