Bull Boy AKA BooBoo

Ready for his close-up
Bull came to me because my father has too soft a heart for some of his friends' taste. You see Bull was dropped off at Dad's friend/boss's (at the time) doorstep at maybe 6-8 weeks of age. Ted (above mentioned friend) fed the little pup but otherwise ignored Bull. Which is how Bull got into a neighbor's horse pasture and was trampled. But my Bull Boy wouldn't let something like that keep him down. Bull drug his broken rear end around until he healed. (Ted wasn't going to take a stray to the vet) Once Bull was up on all 4 feet again, Ted was tired of him and gave him to Dad to take somewhere to shoot. Dad couldn't do that but brought him home to find him a good home...our home. Dad kept him in our fenced backyard "just until he could find a home". I was in love with the shy underweight dog the first day. After a week of begging on my part and assuring my mother that the "pit bull" was not mean, I was a proud new momma. A week after our "outside dog" joined our family, Bull was neutered, 5 pounds heavier (weighing in at 50 pounds of his end weight of 75), and laying beside me hogging the bed. By my side is where he has stayed through many life changes. From getting engaged to adopting a feline sister, moving in with "Daddy", conquering the big city, the car wreck that broke his back - which cost us a month apart, moving back in with my parents, and just last Christmas he got a brother. This May will be 8 years that he has been in my life and I don't remember my life with out him. I think I am a better person because of him and I look forward to many more with my baby boy though hopefully he is through living up to his nickname. Return to Pitbull pictures archive July 2010.
