Every dog adopted out by a shelter or a breeder...

Here's what every dog adopted out by a shelter or a breeder should have:

1. documented proof of successful temperament training Or..

2. an enforceable condition of the sale the successful completion of obedience and temperament conditioning within thirty days after the sale of the animal.

This should be the case for every single dog...every single breed.

I am the proud owner of a ten year old spayed female pit/lab mix named "Lucky." She has brought me immense joy and happiness. I believe her to be an ambassador for her breed, as she exhibits so many noble traits that I find absent in many other breeds and dogs.

The only thing she wants in this world is to be close to her "daddy." Besides treats and her meals, that's all that she requires. She is such a sweetie, she can break your heart.

Kill Shelter's
by: Norma Jean

Oh, to be so lucky? There is NO WAY my local shelter would do this. They just pick up dogs, take in drop offs and strays. Then within a few days they are euthanized, if no one comes by looking for a dog.

In my Peanut's case, he was only 3 months old ! Fairly young to train much less him being a pit bull/mix and EVERYONE around here are afraid of pits. I was looking for a dog to rescue.

Peanut was so little and VERY SICK and he stole my heart immediately. I had to wait till a Wed. to get him (at a nominal fee) and ALSO be the first one on the lot to have my pick. Of course, I was and as it turns out, Peanut had Parvo virus.

Had the vet to treat him (at 400.00) with no guarantee of survival, but the love of my life made it. And proud to say he is 3 years old, over 80 lbs. and gentle as a lamb. Peanut is a house dog and he and I love it that way.
