Horrid Christmas

What a terrible way to have to spend christmas!! This poor family has not only lost their dog, they have lost a member of their family.

I understand that pit bulls and pit bull mixes come with a mixed reputation, but for a member of the RMCP to pin a dog of any type down while their partner shoots it? These are the people that are meant to protect us?!?!?

What would have happened if a child had of 'attacked' the police dog? Would they have pinned it down and shot it?? Seriously, dogs get into fights, so yes if they hadn't have taken action it may have become more serious, but it may have also sorted itself out. They could have fired a warning shot which would have attracted the family... and they could have stopped it. They could also have gotten a hose or a bucket of water, and that is assuming the fight was taking place. I know from experience, if 2 larger-sized dogs are 'going at it' the last thing I am going to do, is put my self in the middle, and I don't believe that the officers were a good enough shot to have shot the pit bull while fighting with the police dog,

Sorry guy's, no matter how quick you are, the dogs would have moved quicker and if they weren't fighting, why the need to shoot at all???

the police were way out of line on shooting this dog. if they where able to pin it down there was no fight. it appears that they were in this family's yard too! what where they doing there?the pit had the injures not the 'police dog. i think they where just trying to cover there ass and make it look like it was not there dog that bit the other dog. i hope that they are removed from the force and the dog put down.

Horrid Christmas Indeed
by: Gale

This is the kind of story that makes my blood boil. The police decide to conduct a training exercise with their dogs unannounced in a neighborhood where they know family pets live. Seeing the picture of that owner kneeling over his dead dog, just breaks my heart. I hope the owner is able to pursue some form of justice--though nothing will bring "Fendi" back.
