My Sweet Kenya
by Jo
I call Kenya my "Duchess of Greets" , and I have never seen one dog make so many people smile. People have made detours to come and pet this sweet gal just because they could not resist the sweet look on her face. Oh, boy and can she work a crowd! She just gives that big piddy grin and rolls on her belly and it's over! When my hubby and I went to the shelter, she was not the first of the pits that caught my eye. She was SO sad and wilted that I almost didn't notice her, were it not for a patch of blue in one of her brown eyes. She didn't even move toward me when I put my finger in the cage....but when my husband approached her, she looked up at him and leaned in a little. When they took her out of her cage and brought her in to meet us, it was that belly move (and her snorts) that won me over immediately. She just could not smile enough, be petted enough. It was heartbreaking to hear from the staff that she had been there 4 months, and no one asked to meet her. I knew then that she was meant to be for me For those of us who have rescued a dog....well you know what I mean when I say she rescued me. Kenya is my friend
