Sweet Seneca
by Molly Krimes
Seneca is a 3 year old pit mix. When we first met, I had no intentions of adopting a pitbull mix at all, or even the breed itself. I was rather into having a lab. But when I went into the Humane League shelter, and passed her kennel, she was sitting by the door, with her head bowed and eyes looking up. I couldn't help but pause and kneel down to meet this 6 month old brindle puppy. Before I knew it, I was enraptured by the sweet girl, and found out that the day I adopted her, was the day they had brought her out to be adopted. She was a rescue from a suspected Pit Fighting group. My favorite thing about Seneca is her frog legs, and the fact that she is so sweet, and so gentle and so loving. We love going Bye Bye together, and every time I get clothes on, she knows we're going for a car ride. I would never have any other dog besides her. Truth be told, I don't know how I ever lived life before she came into my life, both as a wonderful companion, and a service animal for my hearing issues. I don't think I could ever revert to having a lab for a dog ever again. Should I ever get another dog, it would have to be a pitbull.
