Sweetheart our comic relief dog

Baby Sweetheart was found starving and shivering on the side of the road one cold November night. She was full of mange and worms and we had to work hard to get her healthy, but she was well worth it.

When we took her to our vet we found out she was only 5 weeks old and was a rottie/pittie cross. She has the markings of a rottie but the body of a pittie.

She has rewarded us with 5 years of loyalty and unconditional love. She always makes us laugh. Four years ago we had to put our german shepherd to sleep. So the vet came to our house and Sweetheart played comic relief by doing somersaults in her lap.

She is such a nutcase. Her nickname is 'psycho sweetie' for good reason. She is such a jealous dog. If we pet another dog she gets very upset snd the look on her face says 'Hey I'm your baby. You're only allowed to pet me.'

When we go out without her she always shows us a look of hurt on her face. I think she worries that she won't be there to protect us if something bad were to happen.

She is very protective of her mommy and daddy. We almost lost our baby girl this past September due to a twisted stomach. She was rushed into surgery and spent 4 days in the hospital. Our wonderful vet pulled her through with flying colors and she is the picture of health once again.

We are so glad we stopped that night 5 years ago in November. Discarded like trash on the side of the road a helpless puppy. My wife and i don't understand how someone could be so heartless and cowardly as to do such a terrible thing to such a helpless furbaby!!!!
